How the checker works

A time and cost calculator for the work that slows a small business down.

It’s free and needs no sign-up. You make a few choices, add rough numbers, and see what the work adds up to.

   Pick the work that takes your time

   Choose any of nine everyday tasks, then pick up to three to put numbers to.

2. 02

   Put rough numbers to it

   Count a typical day, week or month. The questions are plain: how many times, how many minutes each time, and what an hour of that work costs.

   If you don’t track a number, say so. The checker leaves it out and doesn’t guess.

3. 03

   Figures from your own answers

   Each task gets its own figures, such as hours of work, what that time costs or how long replies wait. They’re worked out only from your answers. Each one shows its working, such as minutes ÷ 60 × your hourly cost.

   When tasks are counted over the same period, the result says which one takes the most hours. There are no benchmarks, forecasts or savings estimates.

4. 04

   Answers stay in your browser

   Everything is worked out on your device. Nothing you type is sent, stored or added to the web address.

   Copy my result puts the figures on your clipboard, without contact details, to keep or pass on.

5. 05

   A first look from your own numbers

   The checker only uses what you type, and it doesn’t forecast savings. A paid Discovery Audit checks the work against your records and ends with one written report and a walkthrough.
